Great Expectations School students Aurora Schelmeske and Annie Lynch check out the lovely forget-me-nots at the school’s pancake breakfast and plant sale on Saturday, May 29. There was a great turnout for pancakes and many plants were sold. There are a few plants left—contact the school at 387- 9322.
Nearly 90 proud parents, grandparents, and community members gathered in the Grand Portage Community Building on May 27 to see the Oshki Ogimaag spring play—an impressive production of Aesop’s Fables. Some of the children who helped local artist Kelly Dupre design and build four mosaics for the front of Birch Grove Community School. The kids began the project in March and finished up last week. The project was funded by a generous grant from the Lloyd K. Johnson Foundation and was done in cooperation with the North Shore Fishing Museum.
