The Tofte Fire and Rescue squad visited Birch Grove Community School in October for Fire Safety Week. K-5 and the (pre-school) Saplings were, once again, very impressed with the fire and rescue volunteers and all the equipment that they brought to the school. Of course, getting to use the fire hose was the highlight, but children also had an opportunity to check out some of the rescue equipment, had a chance to ask questions, and each student received a goodie bag that included a cool glow in the dark Tofte firefighter hat. Many thanks to Tofte’s volunteers for continuing to visit each year and share with the students at Birch Grove Community School.
