Left: Eleanor Waha of Grand Marais has served the community in many ways. She recently stepped down from one of her volunteer activities, as a board member of the Maple Hill Community Fire Department. The Maple Hill Community Fire Department honored Eleanor at their annual meeting on Wednesday, September 7. Fire Chief Kent Anderson presented her with this framed certificate declaring her “Board Member Emeritus.” Above: Eleanor was recognized for her 40 years of service to the department with flowers, gift cards, and this beautiful seven-layer cake made by Lyndsay Anderson.
