The 4th of July festivities in Tofte included some silliness, such as this parade participant who had a special shooter to launch candy into the crowd.
Upper left: Shirley Bierbaum looked lovely in the Schroeder Historical Society parade entry. Middle: There was a long line of fire trucks as all of the West End fire departments took part in the parade. A couple of Lutsen firefighters donned turnout gear and handed out pocketfuls of candy to kids. Upper right: The Tofte Commercial Fishing Museum had a Scandinavian theme.
Above: The Grand Marais State Bank celebrated its 100th anniversary in patriotic style at the parade.
Above: With appreciation for all his years on the Tofte Fire Department and his work as fire chief, Tofte Supervisor Paul James (left) presented a plaque to Rich Nelson.
Left: Once again there was a long, long, line at the Lutsen Fire Department’s fish fry tent.
Left: Molly Wickwire gets dunked to raise money for the Lutsen Junior Alpine Team. Above: The competition at the Minnow Races was fast and furious.
