Donkey Basketball was “played” at the Cook County High School gym on February 18, benefitting the CCHS Band. Far left: Aaron Mielke of the Grand Marais Fire Department/Law Enforcement team makes one of several points he made for his team. Top left: Leo Johnson accidentally bopped his donkey on the rear-end with a basketball, so he had to apologize—with a kiss! Lower left: Jaret Baker struggles to hold onto the ball and stay on his energetic donkey. Top right: School Counselor Kris Hoffman and his teacher colleagues donned sombreros for the event. The donkeys were not impressed. Hoffman was a great sport, as were all the “players.” The teachers and law enforcement went to the “championship” and the teachers’ team won.
