Cook County’s first-ever fat tire bike race, the Frostbiter, was held Saturday, February 21 on the fantastic Grand Portage snowmobile trails. The event, sponsored by Grand Portage Lodge & Casino benefitted Easter Seals. Riders are seen here staging next to Lake Superior at the lodge.

Riders said the trails were superb. One Frostbiter Facebook fan said the upper trail was“groomed like glass.” Everyone pledged to return next year for Frostbiter 2.
