A great time was had by all at the Cook County Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club Fun Run. Some people took their vehicles while most traveled by snowmobile trails to six stops, where cards were handed out for a traveling poker game. The stops included Gunflint Lodge, Gunflint Pines, Windigo Lodge, Trail Center, Hungry Jack Lodge and Devil Track Landing. About 150 riders took part in the sixth annul fundraiser held Saturday, February 7. Lower left: The weather cooperated and fresh snow greeted riders at every stop, as it did at Devil Track Landing.
Above left: Terri Dunkel won $500 for collecting the high hand in the Cook County Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club Fun Run’s poker run. Terri’s winning hand was 3-10-10-10- 10. The 2015 event was the biggest Snowarama for Easter Seals to date. Rhonda Harrison of Easter Seals Ontario said, “It was a great turnout and the trails were amazing. We had 135 riders and raised 40,191 for Easter Seals kids.” This year’s total brings the 12-year total to $333,848 for the Grand Portage Lodge and Casino events.
