With the recent 30-inch snowfall and the opening of a new high-speed lift, the ski season is off to a record start at Lutsen Mountains. A ribbon cutting was held on Friday, Dec. 13 before the new lift began transporting happy skiers up Moose Mountain. The new lift cuts the time it takes to get skiers back to the mountaintop by one-third, from around 10 minutes to 3½ minutes. The new lift will give skiers and boarders access to 90 percent of the runs on Moose Mountain.
