The Cook County ATV Club gathered for its annual Tom Lake Shoot & Ride on Saturday, July 20. Above: Some of the group posed for a photo at the Tom Lake heliport/gravel pit before target practice began. There were riders from Lutsen, Tofte, Hovland and Grand Marais, as well as some visitors from Illinois and Iowa. With all of the different firearms to try, shooting took several hours. After shooting, club members enjoyed riding on the scenic Tom Lake area trails.

Ride hosts Chuck and Marcy Bolinger set up a safe and challenging shooting lane. There were even some “zombies” to take aim at. After shooting and riding, everyone gathered at Chuck and Marcy Bolingers' Tom Lake cabin for a picnic, more visiting, and for the kids and dogs in the group—a dip in the lake.
