This arrangement of peonies at the West End Garden Club show, called “Rhapsody in Blue,” (left) was made by Mary Lou Huron. These thistles (right) are beautiful albeit prickly. According to Carol Spencer, who arranged them, they are the official flower of Scotland and helped the Scots defeat the Brits on the battlefield.

“Take My Hand – I’m a Stranger in Paradise” was the name of this arrangement by Colleen Brennan at the West End Garden Club show. This was definitely a flight of fancy.
