Above: Offered during spring break at Cook County High School was an opportunity for students to make their own snowshoes. It didn’t take long for Dylan Deschampe to master the process of webbing his snowshoes. Left: Anishinaabe teacher Tom Jack shows Adrian Howard-Larsen how to web. Jack hopes the project will help students not only learn an old Anishinaabe tradition but will also get them to experience more of the outdoors. The project was possible through a grant from the Cook County ISD 166 Education Foundation.
