Each photographer brings his own perspective, and together they offer a huge range of natural scenes of the area: snow falling, sunsets in the Grand Marais harbor, a giant moon beside the lighthouse, the Hjordis sailing beside the Sawtooth Mountains, the blur of a caramel colored waterfall, lichens on rocks beside Lake Superior as seen through the window of a fish house, a tangle of tree roots, a time exposure of stars swirling in a circle around the Grand Portage Spirit Tree, mist over the water just before sunrise, herring gulls following a fishing boat at dawn, the Northern Lights, layers of frozen waves, ice-encrusted grasses, blue ice shards on the shore, bare branches against a night sky, blue skies, red skies, green skies, a blaze of fall color….

The exhibit, well worth viewing, will end March 28. TheJohnson Heritage Post is open 1-4 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
