With the melt of winter snow, the water rushes, tumbles, and thunders over High Falls this time of year. On any sunny day there is usually a rainbow (or two) to capture with your camera. Located in Grand Portage on the Pigeon River, at 120 feet, High Falls is the tallest waterfall in Minnesota. The half-mile trail leading from the Grand Portage State Park parking area is paved and has a boardwalk making it easy to reach High Falls for most pedestrians.
