A Great Gray Owl is on the lookout for a meal on the forest floor below. Great Grays typically hunt at night, flying low as they glide over meadows or open areas in search of small mammals. These owls are some the largest owls; they are gray with white streaks, rounded wings, large heads and yellow eyes.
