Tuesday, December 22, a new day dawned in Cook County. Kristi Silence, a Care Center Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) became the first person to be vaccinated for COVID-19 in the county. Kristi and several other workers at North Shore Health received Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccinations. Each recipient will have to get a second vaccination shot 21 days after the first shot to build up their immune system so it can better fight off the coronavirus.
