There are still some moose around, but you have to be a little bit lucky to see them. This fellow was standing just off of the Gunflint Trail, not too far from Trail Center. While there aren’t as many moose as there used to be in northern Minnesota, they can surprise you if you aren’t careful when you are driving. Just last week, someone hit a moose near where this picture was taken. The moose got up and ran off, which was lucky for the driver of the vehicle and the moose.
