About 45 people turned out to hear DFL candidate Quinn Nystrom speak at the Grand Marais Rec Park last Friday evening. Quinn is running against Republican incumbent Pete Stauber to represent Minnesota’s Eighth Congressional District. Also speaking on Friday were Michael Garry and Paula Powell. Powell is running for the open District 1 Cook County commissioner seat and Garry is running for a seat on the Grand Marais City council. Nystrom ‘s stop here was one of many she will make while she visits all of the 18 counties located in the large Eighth Congressional District.
