Last week Orvis Lunke received a totally unexpected honor. Orvis was given A Quilt of Valor from the Ripple River Quilters. The quilt was handmade by Barb Posterick, who traveled to Grand Marais to present it to him. Said Orvis’s wife, Donna, “I am so proud of his service to our country, Honor Guard in the American Legion, his eleven trips to Washington D.C. with Honor Flight Northland as a guardian, and doing so many things behind the scenes for local veterans that no one would ever know about.”
