Each morning, around 6:30 – 7:00 am, Doug Sanders and his dog Lucee, a Tennessee Treeing Brindle, hike a mile: round to the harbor, Highway 61 construction project and home. The six MnDOT surveyors and inspectors have dubbed Lucee the Chief Inspector Dog. “Lucee,” said Doug, “tugged my attention to the ducks” swimming in water that gathers after a long rain in the Cook County Whole Foods Co-op parking lot.
