Grand Marais resident Butch Schulte was taking his early morning walk on Wednesday, July 15, when he came across several facemasks on the ground in the downtown area. Each mask had a nasty message on it, which stopped Butch in his tracks. Butch went home to get something to use to pick the masks up and brought pictures to the newspaper. As he said, no one likes wearing a mask but it’s something we all need to do at this time if we are around people, especially in a crowd. Schulte is unsure of what to do with the masks, but he hopes he doesn’t find anymore on his morning walks about town.
