Seagulls and geese congregate together on what was once called Seagull Island on the west side of the harbor. Soon enough the harbor will swell with baby seagulls and gaggles of goslings. Goslings stay with their parents for a full year after they hatch. Seagull chicks spend about two weeks with their parents and one parent tends to guard them until they fledge. The male does most of the feeding while the female tends to her brood and guards the chicks.
