Organized by Arrowhead Indivisible, in conjunction with Cook County DFL, about 20 hardy defenders of peace and diplomacy braved a cold north wind to join in solidarity with thousands of protestors across the nation. Grand Marais was one of over 75 cities nationwide to hold a “No-War-With-Iran” rally.

The group chanted:
“No. War. On. Iran.”
“What do we want? Peace.
When do we want it? Now.”
And they sang:

“All we are saying is give peace a chance.”

The protestors believe we are at a precarious moment in our nation’s history. It appears the impeached president and the pentagon acted illegally, without a comprehensive strategy, without notifying congress, in violation of the Constitution, the War Powers Act, and international law. The group held signs opposing a new war in the Middle East, and calling for the withdrawal of U.S. troops and bases in the region, before thousands of lives are lost.
