Armed with umbrellas under threatening skies, about 40 people came out for the Annual Community Cross Walk on Good Friday, April 2. The faithful followed the cross from the Evangelical Free Church, through Grand Marais and back to St. John’s Catholic Church where an ecumenical Good Friday Service was held. The groups paused at each church and at symbolic points on the east and west ends of Grand Marais to pray for churches in and out of Grand Marais. The rain held off during the walk during which community members took turns bearing the cross. Pictured above, Paul Muus takes a turn carrying the wooden cross, assisted by Nicki Boostrom and Daniel Ditmanson.
