Practically everywhere one looks there is a plein air artist working on a painting in the city of Grand Marais. A cold, somewhat windy day didn’t deter this hardy painter from her work this past Wednesday. This year there are 75 competition artists and more than 30 open class painters competing for prizes in the Sept. 6-13 Plein Air competition. An open reception and exhibit will be held tonight (Friday, Sept. 13) at the Johnson Heritage Post from 5-7 p.m.
