Wednesday, July 10 was a historic day for Kitchi-Onigaming (Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa) as the Grand Portage Tribal Council welcomed its first woman chair, Beth Drost. Drost was sworn in by April McCormick at the Grand Portage Log Community Building in front of a large crowd of friends and family. Story next week.
