Four veterans from Cook County landed in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, May 4 as part of a large contingency of veterans from all over the U.S. who took part in the Honor Flight activities. Veterans visited Arlington Cemetery, and monuments and memorials for the Viet Nam, Korean, and World War ll wars. Honor Flight is a nonprofit organization that was created to solely honor America’s veterans for all of their sacrifices. Taking part from Cook County were, L-R: Jim Corcoran, Dave Wirt, Orvis Lunke (who attended as a guardian), Butch Deschampe and Arvid Dahl.
