This wasn’t just any boat cruising around the Grand Marais harbor. On Wednesday, March 20 a 1000 Island Air Boats rescue boat was in town to give a demonstration to the Sheriff’s Office and Search & Rescue. “These versatile assets have been instrumental in rescuing people in hundreds of challenging rescues. This particular boat can transport as many as 10 people at a time in their cargo specs. Deputies and responders were able to take rides in the boat to see how it operates. The owner of the company owns a cabin on Saganaga Lake,” said Valerie Marasco, Director—Office of Emergency Management & Public Information.
