Winter arrived unannounced last Friday, November 9, spilling almost a foot of snow in places in the county and making the streets slippery for motorists, as evidenced here. The driver of this vehicle lost traction coming down the old Gunflint Trail and slid across Highway 61, nearly clipping the yellow office building owned by North House Folk School. Luckily the driver was uninjured in the accident that occurred around 8:30 a.m.
