Pete Stauber paid a visit to Cook County on Friday, October 26. Pete, the Republican candidate for the Eighth District congressional seat, visited with tribal leaders in Grand Portage and made a brief stop by the newspaper office to say hello. Stauber planned one more Cook County stop on Thursday, November 1. If elected, said Stauber, he said he would be guided by his conscience and the interests of the people living in the district before he casts a vote on a matter before Congress. “I won’t be an automatic ‘yes’ or ‘no’ vote for anybody,” he said.
