When it gets hot moose—like the one above—love to cool down in a pond. Moose also go to ponds for food. They eat catkins and tall grasses living in the water. At times they will eat the leaves of water lilies. A male moose can weigh up to 1,550 pounds while a female can weigh 1,100 pounds. They can run up to 35 miles an hour and can swim for miles in lakes and stay underwater for up to 30 seconds. Moose, like the one above, are truly remarkable creatures.
