With the number of moose roaming northeast Minnesota less than half of what it was in 2006, it is nice to see hope for a comeback like this one pictured in the scene above with mama moose nursing her calf. There were an estimated 8,840 moose in 2006 and the Minnesota DNR estimated 3,710 for 2017. John Hill captured this maternal moment on the Greenwood Lake Road with his game camera.
