U.S. Forest Service fire fighting crews were recently on a training mission, carrying their heavy packs up and down the hilly trail along the Arrowhead River. Fire danger was recently high in the county, but two days of rain and very cool weather on May 17 and May 18 dampened any chance of a large forest fire in our neck of the woods.
