The Grand Marais State Bank held a retirement party open to the public on President Mike LaVigne’s last day at work, January 27. One of the people who came to wish him a farewell was Rick Anderson (L), grandson of A.M. Anderson who started the bank, and son of Richard (Dick) Anderson who ran the bank when A.M. retired. LaVigne, who spent 33 years in charge, is only the third president in the history of the Grand Marais State Bank, which opened in 1916.
