Noted local wildlife photographer David Johnson was out taking pictures of a mama lynx with her youngsters when, he said,“In a blink of an eye one of her yearling kittens appears with lunch, a snowshoe hare, wow!”According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, “The Canada lynx is a rare wildcat in Minnesota, and is most likely to occur just after the population of their main prey, snowshoe hare, crashed in Canada. The lynx has large snowshoe-like feet that enables it to walk on top of deep, soft, snows.”
