Taking advantage of trees provided by Hedstrom Lumber Company, students from Great Expectations School planted 250 trees at Pincushion Mountain on Friday, May 13. The trees were planted by mixed-age teams of students under the direction of Myra Theimer and Erica Hahn of the U.S. Forest Service. The U.S. Forest Service provided tools and equipment for the project. The effort was a service component of the school’s program that emphasizes environmental literacy and integrated, hands-on learning.
