On Sunday, March 6, a group of Cook County Middle School students and teachers traveled to the University of Minnesota-Duluth School of Medicine to take part in “Women in Science.” The girls got to meet and ask questions of more than a dozen women in various scientific fields, ranging from limnology and marine biology to neuroscience and chemistry and more. Attending were (L-R, seated) Izabella Sparks, Emma Gesch, Hazel Oberholtzer, Zoe Nonnemacher, Molly LaVigne (front) and a friend from Duluth.
