Brooks the chocolate lab/Brittney became part of the Piepho family last year. He was too young to bird hunt last year, but now at nearly two years old, he is catching on nicely. His owner Butch Piepho of Lutsen said he’s been taking his shotgun along on morning walks since the start of the season for ruffed grouse. Last week he bagged a bird and Brooks went after it, picked it up and brought it right back to his owner. Butch Piepho was rightly proud of the young dog and said, “Watch out, pheasants!”
