There was a huge turnout for the celebration of the completion of Gunflint Trail Fire Hall #3 on Tuesday, June 17. The improvements to the fire hall have created the Seagull Lake Community Center. This ends a multi-year construction program to provide three facilities that can now serve as fire halls, provide space for training, be used as community centers and can become incident command posts in case of emergency. The total cost of the three fire hall projects was $850,000, with over $500,000 coming from donations. The Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department hosted the evening as a way to say thanks to the community for its generosity.
