Celebrating the success of the Art ‘Round Town art show/fundraiser at the Johnson Heritage Post on Friday, February 14 were (L-R) jazz musician Eric Hahn, Art ‘Round Town organizer Ann Mershon, volunteers Thelma Hedstrom, Annie DeBevec and jazz musician Mike DeBevec. Thelma is holding the nice stack of cash raised at the event, which will be used toward a new student/artist collaborative work—a mosaic mural on the west wall of Johnson’s Grocery in Grand Marais. The event raised $3,200, which will go a long way toward the cost of the project, estimated to be $9,000. It also gave community members the opportunity to purchase some amazing artwork and just enjoy an evening of refreshments, wine and music at the Johnson Heritage Post. Anyone interested in contributing to the mural project can still do so. Just contact Ann Mershon at (218) 387-2245 or amershon@boreal.org to find out how.
