Using old world techniques and secret methods and a recipe reputedly handed down from the Norse Gods, about a dozen women (and a couple of men) made lefse at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Grand Marais recently. Martha Rosbacka displays one technique used to make perfect lefse. Any that weren’t deemed perfect were cast aside and eaten as mistakes, and the mistakes tasted excellent. The lefse will be sold at the Julefest celebration held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 14 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the money raised will go towards funding youth group activities.
