About 100 people attended the “Uffda Fish Cakes for Funds” dinner hosted by Brian Toftey and two Norwegian college student filmmakers, Kristian Balsrod and Anton Ligaarden, on Tuesday, June 18 at the Cook County Community Center. The Norwegian duo has been busy making a documentary about Norwegian-Americans along the North Shore and Isle Royale for the past year. They have traveled to Cook County three times and stayed about one month each time, meeting and filming and interviewing people. The delicious fishcakes were made using a 125-year-old recipe from Brian Toftey’s family. (L-R) Kristian Balsrod, Brian Toftey and Anton Ligaarden.
