Traffic was halted for about half an hour on the Gunflint Trail on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 as the Gunflint Trail Fire Department extinguished a vehicle fire. The Gunflint Trail Fire Department was paged to the fire at 3:34 p.m. at 10030 Gunflint Trail, near Loon Lake. The fire department was on scene by 3:45 p.m. and called for foam to combat the fire. The fire was considered contained by 5:01 p.m. and the fire department was clear of the scene by 5:05 p.m. The fire appeared to have started because of a problem with the battery.
