Dianne Schwecke, a retired librarian, volunteers her time each week at Birch Grove Community School. Schwecke started at Birch Grove last year and continues to be the school librarian. She is pictured here during student library time, holding a letter from Library Friends of Cook County awarding the library $500. Schwecke will use the funds to repair books, label books with Accelerated Reading program stickers and add additional books to the Birch Grove library. Birch Grove Administrator Diane Blanchette said, “Thank you to both Mrs. Schwecke and Friends of the Library for contributing to our school! We couldn’t do it without you!”
