For the first time this past summer, the Grand Marais Public Library offered a summer reading program for kids in grades 6 -12. The participants who reached their reading goal were entered into a drawing for some great prizes thanks to a generous donation from the Grand Marais State Bank, support from Library Friends of Cook County and Marcus Theatres in Duluth. Thirteen of the 33 participants reached their goals and read 198 books. A very happy Melanie Stoddard won the coveted big prize, a Kindle Touch. Patsy Ingebrigtsen presents her prize. Ingebrigtsen said, “Congratulations to Melanie and all the participants of the ‘Own the Night’ summer reading program and a big thank you to our sponsors!”
