After months of fundraising for the trip and practicing Elvis tunes, the Cook County High School Band performed at Graceland, in Memphis, Tennessee on Tuesday, April 3. A few of the band members—Mike Sjogren, CeCe Olsen and Clara Olsen and Band Director Keri Bilben were interviewed on Sirius Radio’s Elvis Radio/XM channel 19. Bilben said the DJ was very impressed with the CCHS band’s large selection of Elvis music, including the musically challenging Viva Las Vegas. At press time the band was on its way home. Bilben sent this photo from the road and said, “Memphis was incredibly jam-packed and musically educational. The students have done a great job at representing all of Cook County.”
