Forty-nine pink and red bags were filled with homemade cookies and bars by 12 women of the Grand Marais Bethlehem Lutheran Church and distributed throughout the community to people who might otherwise be forgotten on Valentine’s Day. These good-looking young ladies made these sweets and also distributed plates of treats to North Shore Care Center, Hill Haven and Sawtooth Ridges Apartments. It is the 15th consecutive year they have helped brighten someone’s day with their act of selflessness, kindness, and yes, love. (L-R, front) Milly Gestel, Gladys Dockan, Mary McElevey, Gloria Lampel, Joan Bieber. (L-R, back) Eleanor Waha, Cathi Williams, Phyllis Olson, Jody Daugherty, Vera Finn, Sally Arntsen. Hiding off camera is Gwen Lenz.
