On Thursday, October 6, there was an Indian Taco Fundraiser at the Grand Portage Community Center to help some of the county’s Girl Scouts who are planning a trip to Savannah, Georgia for the 100th anniversary of Scouting. Pictured here are Shaelynn Novitsky, Brooke Sherer and parent volunteer Kayla Gotchie getting ready to draw the winning ticket for the 50-50 raffle also held that night. Over 20 family and community volunteers helped Girl Scouts Brooke, Emma, Haley, Linnea and Shaelynn sell almost 200 Indian tacos. The scouts and their families express heartfelt thanks to the Grand Portage community for their enthusiastic support of this worthwhile cause. The lucky winner of the 50/50 raffle was Sharon Walker who won $207 cash.
