The thunderstorm in the early hours of the morning of July 20 dumped 3.75 inches of rain on the city of Grand Marais and many other areas of Cook County. The municipal lot was flooded as it usually is after a big rain. Ben Peters of Stone Harbor Wilderness Supply enjoyed a kayak ride. He and other Stone Harbor staffers used kayaks and stand-up paddleboards to help customers reach flooded businesses. More storm photos on page A3.
