Mary the mother of Jesus (aka Bonnie Muus) sits in her house inside Bethlehem Lutheran Church on June 15, 2011 and tells vacation Bible school students about a visit from some very important travelers who brought special gifts – gold, frankincense, and myrrh—when her son Jesus was born. Bev and Jim Johnson worked very hard to make the room look realistic for the program, held June 13-17. Bev said she would not be disassembling the rock walls after VBS is over because they took so much work to create. Her kids will have to deal with them someday, she said. Through the years, she has put a great deal of creativity and labor into VBS, according to Mary McElevey.
