Eleanor Waha was recently honored for her long service to the Cook County Historical Society. Gene Erickson,president of the society, hands Waha a certificate as Eric Humphrey looks on. Erickson said Waha has been instrumentalin all of the success and growth of the organization, and her service goes back half a century. Eleanor currentlyserves as the group’s treasurer. As for her dedication and work, all Eleanor would say is, “I have been happyto serve. I don’t know why anybody is making a big deal out of this, though.”
